Please visit the Water Works department located inside Graysville City Hall
where you will be asked to fill out a contract. The following is required to obtain water services:
 Rental lease with signature pages/ Proof of ownership (deed/ title)
 ID or Driver’s License
 Water connection fee
 Rates for water connection are as followed:
 Renters -$75.00
 Owners- $25.00

Meters are read on the 15 th of every month.

Water Taps/ Water tap fee

If you looking to build a new home here are a few things you need to know. A Water Taps is a
connection from a home’s water line to the city’s water main.
Before connecting the water lines, Graysville Public Works department must first survey the area to
determine the best possible site for the new meter. It is the responsibility of the home owner to run the
water lines to the meter site prior to meter placement. Once that is completed, please visit the Water
Works department to fill out a contract for water services and pay the fee is that required. This must be
completed before water services can be turned on.
 Water tap fee: $535.00 plus $25.00 water connection fee

Water Disconnection

If you are moving, please visit the Water Work department to complete the Water Disconnection form.
Any remaining balance must be paid. You may receive a final bill for the water usage generated between
meter readings.
 If by any chance your water is disconnected, to reconnect water, the past due amount must
be paid, along with a reconnection fee of $25.00.
 If your water remains shut off 30 days from the initial disconnect date, it is required that the
full bill is to be paid, along with a $40.00 Connection fee.

Water Leaks
If you notice a water leak, please contact Water Works department. Please note, if the water leak is
located on the customer’s side of the meter; it is the responsibility of the customer to locate and repair
the leak. Please be advised, if the meter is damaged in any way due to the negligence of the customer or
a second party, the customer will responsible for any repairs or meter replacements.

Bill Pay

Bills are due by the 10 th of every month. After the 10 th , late fees apply. It is important to note that if the
10 th happens to fall on a weekend, that does not disqualify your bill from accruing late charges.
The payment window is open for bill pay, please have your bill and payment ready at the window. If you
do not have your bill, please come inside the Water Works department to pay.
We also offer online bill pay. We also have secured automated pay-by-phone services available for both
Utility and Property tax payments.
Cash, check and debit/ credit cards are accepted. Note that… an extra fee of 2.5% is required for a
processing fee on all card transactions.

Trash Cans

The City of Graysville contracts out to Capital Waste Services for weekly waste removal. CWS picks up
trash in Graysville on Wednesday (City) and Friday (Outskirts). The main office is located at 1387
Wisdom St, Chattanooga, TN 37406. You may reach them either by calling 423-497-1333 or at
capwasteservices.com .
CWS supplies the city with trash cans. You will see a charge of $10.00 on every bill that will cover waste
removal within the city limits. Graysville residents living outside the city limits will need to contact CWS
for their residential waste removal.
If an additional trash can is needed, there will be an extra charge of $10.00 per can, per month. Please
contact the Water Works department for any additional information.

Brush Pick Up

On the first and third weeks of every month, L&T Tree Service will remove brush from your property.
Please note… it is the responsibility of the land owner to pile the brush by the curbside.

*Bulky Trash pick Up

The Graysville City Public Works will pick up bulky trash item, such as furniture or bulky items.
Household trash will not be considered as Bulky Trash Pick-up. It is the responsibility of the land owner
to pile the bulky trash by the curbside. *This is only a seasonal operation. Be advised… Work for the
good of the city takes precedence over bulky trash pick-up.

Property Tax

Property tax payments can be made through the Water Works department or on our website.

processing fee on all card transactions.

Reservations for Park Community Room and Kristopher's Kingdom Building

The Water Works department is responsible for reservations for the Community Room, located inside
City Hall; and Kristopher’s Kingdom Park Building located at 475 Blacktrack Road, Graysville, TN. The
Lessee is required to fill out a contract in order to reserved either venue.
 The rental fee and deposit for *City of Graysville residents is $50.00. Twenty-five dollars ($25) is
refundable. Once the room is inspected, a check will be mailed 10 days after the reservation to
the name and address given in the contract.
*City of Graysville resident must show their water bill or have an active water account.
 The rental fee and deposit for non-Graysville residents is $75.00 dollars. Twenty-five dollars
($25) is refundable. Once the room is inspected, a check will be mailed 10 days after the
reservation to the name and address given in the contract.
*** Reservations can only be made a month in advance.
